NetSuite saved searches don’t offer configurable export format settings – they default to the same problematic XML Spreadsheet 2003 format as other NetSuite exports. There’s no way to change this behavior within NetSuite itself.
Here’s how to work with saved search data in modern Excel format without dealing with NetSuite’s export limitations.
Import saved searches directly in proper Excel format
Coefficient connects to your NetSuite saved searches through the API, importing results straight into Excel without any file downloads. All search criteria and filters from NetSuite are maintained, and the data arrives in native XLSX format.
How to make it work
Step 1. Access Coefficient’s NetSuite import options.
Open Coefficient’s sidebar in Excel and select “Import from NetSuite.” Choose “Saved Searches” as your import method to see all available saved searches from your NetSuite account.
Step 2. Select and preview your saved search.
Pick your desired saved search from the dropdown menu. Coefficient shows a preview of the first 50 rows, and you can reorder columns by dragging and dropping them in the preview window.
Step 3. Import and set up refresh schedules.
Import the data directly to your spreadsheet where it appears in proper Excel format. Set up automatic refreshes to keep the data current, and you can even import multiple saved searches to different sheets and refresh them all at once.
Work with saved search data the modern way
Stop dealing with file format issues and manual conversions. Coefficient gives you direct access to all your NetSuite saved searches in clean Excel format, ready for analysis and sharing. Start importing your saved searches without the export headaches.
