How Coefficient helped elevate FP&A at Tourlane
"With Coefficient I went from downloading 100+ tables every Monday to writing a strategic summary the management team eagerly waits for."
Sash Yenika
FP&A Lead, Tourlane
The Challenge
Before Coefficient, FP&A at Tourlane was reactive. Sash Yenika, FP&A Lead, inherited a model that demanded manual downloads and updates for 100+ tables every single week.
An entire Monday morning disappeared into copy-paste. Beyond time, the process introduced accuracy risk: a single misaligned row across 100+ tables would produce numbers that looked reasonable but were subtly wrong.
Before Coefficient:
- 100+ tables manually pulled every week
- Entire Monday mornings lost to copy-paste
- Accuracy risk from misaligned rows
- Reactive FP&A – little time for proactive analysis
The Solution
Sash introduced Coefficient in his first month at Tourlane, but didn’t get buy-in right away. When he went on vacation, someone from management tried the manual update for a week, made a bunch of mistakes, and the next day Sash had an approval to sign up for Coefficient. No more convincing needed.
Coefficient let Sash rebuild the model architecture from scratch. The old “one Excel file with 300 tabs” became a modular suite of connected models:
- Top-line P&L model
- Sales, Marketing, CS P&L models
- Accounting model
- Specialized models per use case
Each refreshes on a staggered schedule – 4-6am for overnight data, 10am for judgment-based updates. By Monday morning, data is ready.
The Result
100+ tables eliminated – every manual pull replaced with a live, auto-refreshing connection.
~100 hours reclaimed per week across 10 Coefficient users (roughly 10 hours per user).
From reactive to proactive – Monday mornings now go to strategic summaries for the management team.
Management waits for the output – the one week Sash paused the summary, he got a message asking where it was.
Accuracy that holds up – auto-connected data eliminated subtle errors from manual pulls.

Interview Highlights
“I had to download 100+ tables. I was like – is this a job that a manager has to do? And this is something I have to do on a weekly basis.”
Sash Yenika, FP&A Lead, Tourlane
“You don’t need to sell it to anyone. You just show the impact and you can see it right away.”
Sash Yenika
“Now first thing Monday is completely free for me. I write a nice summary for stakeholders. When I stopped doing it one week, I got a message from management – ‘Hey, where’s your short summary? I was eagerly waiting for it.'”
Sash Yenika, FP&A Lead, Tourlane
“Whenever a country lead asks for a particular analysis, I start with Coefficient. I create it from Looker, connect it – and now it’s a repeatable process. Next time they come back, I just refresh.”
Sash Yenika
“Just get Coefficient without thinking too much. It’s easy to start and you can immediately see the impact. You don’t need to convince anyone – you just do a trial run, and yeah, it sells itself.”
