Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 14, 2023

At Coefficient Works, Inc. (“Coefficient”, “we”, “us” or “our”) we take your privacy and the security of your information very seriously.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) covers Coefficient owned websites (“Site” or “Sites”), including coefficient.io and platforms, and any services offered by Coefficient, including as may be offered through the G Suite Marketplace  (collectively, the “Services”) to you (“Users”).  This Privacy Policy is incorporated into, and is part of, our Terms of Service and Website Terms of Use available at https://coefficient.io/terms and https://coefficient.io/website-terms-of-use, respectively, which govern your access to the Services.  Unless otherwise defined herein, capitalized terms shall have the meaning assigned to such terms in the Terms of Service.

If you have any questions regarding this Policy please contact us at support@coefficient.io.

The Policy describes the types of information we gather from Users, including people using our Services and from individual Users interacting with the Services, and how we use, transfer, and secure such information.  By using any of the Services, you agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please do not use any of our Services.  Each time you use our Services, the current version of this Policy will apply.  Accordingly, when you use any of our Services, you should check the date of this Policy (which appears at the top) and review any changes since you last reviewed the Policy.

Please note, if you are using the Services on behalf of a Coefficient customer, we process your information in accordance with our agreement with the applicable customer.  The customer’s processing of your information is governed by the applicable customer’s terms and privacy policy, not by this Policy.  For more information, see the “Customer Data” subsection below.

1.  Types of Information We Collect and How we Use it

We collect two types of information from Users of our Services: “Personal Information,” which is information that you provide that can be used to identify you (such as your name, email address, etc.), and “Aggregate Information,” which is information that cannot be used to identify you (such as frequency of visits to the Website, browser type, etc.).

1.1.  Personal Information Collected

Coefficient collects Personal Information you voluntarily provide to us when you use our Services.  For example, you may provide us with your email address or other Personal Information.

We do not control your use of our Services to share information with others.  If you choose to share information publicly through our Services, please understand that we cannot control the actions of third parties who could collect this information.

Accounts:

Coefficient offers cloud-based data syncing and automation technology products and services (“Coefficient Platform”).

We collect Personal Information of Users of the Coefficient Platform to create an account, and we also collect any information that Users submit, or cause to be submitted, to the Coefficient Platform, which may include Personal Information.

Customer Data:

Please note that all information and data, which may include Personal Information, submitted by or on behalf of a Coefficient customer to the Coefficient Platform pursuant to a contract between Coefficient and the customer, including the Coefficient Terms of Service, is considered by Coefficient to be “Customer Data.” As between the applicable customer and Coefficient, each customer is the “owner” and controller of its Customer Data.  Accordingly, Coefficient only processes such data in accordance with the agreement in place with the applicable customer.  This Policy does not apply to Customer Data and does not describe the applicable customer’s privacy practices. Coefficient is not responsible in any way for the privacy or security practices of our customers, which may differ from those set forth in this Policy.  Please see the privacy policy and privacy notices of the applicable customer to learn more about how the customer treats such Customer Data.

Collection of Personal Information by Third Parties:

‍Some links on our Services may redirect you to third party resources, including websites and services that Coefficient does not operate.  The privacy practices of these websites and services will be governed by their own policies. We make no representation or warranty as to the privacy policies of any third parties, including the providers of third party applications.  If you are submitting information to any such third party through our Services, you should review and understand that party’s applicable policies, including their privacy policy, before providing your information to the third party.

1.2.  Aggregate Information Collected

Aggregate Information may be collected when you use our Services independent of any information you voluntarily enter.  Coefficient may collect, use, store, and transfer Aggregate Information without restriction where collected by automated means via our Site.

For example, when you visit our Site, some information is automatically collected. Such information could include your operating system, the site from which you linked to us (“referring page”), the name of the website you choose to visit immediately after ours (called the “exit page”), information about other websites you have recently visited, browser (software used to browse the internet) type and language, device identifier numbers, your site activity, and the time and date of your visit.  Although we do our best to honor the privacy preferences of our visitors, we are not able to respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser at this time.

We may also use cookies, pixels, beacons, or other web tracking technologies to track the amount of time spent on our Sites or social media and whether or not certain content, such as a video was viewed. We may work with a third party to collect and process this information for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy.

1.3 Use of “Cookies”

A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website asks your browser to store on your device to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information, that can later be retrieved to identify you when you return to the Site or Services. You have choices with respect to cookies.  By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies.  If you choose to reject all cookies you may be unable to use those aspects of our Sites that require registration in order to participate. You can learn more about cookies and how they work at www.allaboutcookies.org.  You can always disable cookies through your browser settings. Doing so, however, may disable certain features on our Sites.  You can opt-out from third party cookies that are used for advertising purposes on the NAI website at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

We automatically receive and store certain types of information when you visit the Site through the use of cookies, web beacons, or similar programs. Cookies are strings of text that a website may store on your computer. Cookies enable the Site to keep track of your preferences and activities when you use or visit the Site.

The Site creates session cookies for each visit in order to facilitate your visit. The session cookie expires at the end of the session.

We may also use persistent cookies, which remain on your device for much longer. Cookies do not corrupt or damage your computer or computer files.

We use cookies for authentication, to remember your settings, to keep track of your activity during a visit to the Site, to conduct usability tests, to improve Site performance, and to implement certain features of the Site.

We use analytics and customization cookies, including third party cookies, to gather information on how our Site is being used by our visitors and to measure how popular our marketing campaigns are. We use the data we get to help customize our Site and products for you and make the content you see as relevant as possible. We may also use the data we collect to help identify and prevent fraud, and to track visits from our affiliates or partners.

Social networking cookies allow visitors to share our pages and content through third-party social networking websites.

Targeting/advertising cookies help us to customize and regulate (e.g., by capping the frequency of) the advertisements you receive, provide you with tailored offers, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. For instance, if we target an ad campaign through an online advertising network, we might use cookies on our Site to estimate how many viewers of the ad later visited our Site – and therefore, how effective the ad campaign was. Or, we might “retarget” visitors to our Site by providing them offers (whether through online display media, email or direct mail) similar to those they viewed or expressed interest in during their Site visits.

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. In addition, some Site features may request your consent to the placement of cookies. If you consent, you may later remove cookies as your browser permits. If you reject or remove cookies, you may still use our Site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our Site may be limited. For more information about the use of cookies and how to block them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org, www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe) or www.aboutads.info/choices (United States).

You may opt out of receiving personalized advertisements from advertising companies that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative or who subscribe to the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising by visiting www.networkadvertising.org/choices and www.aboutads.info/choices.

Our business partners may also use cookies for the same general purposes identified in this Privacy Policy, including to improve their own marketing or products. Third parties may use cookies and other technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites. Third parties we work with also may use other “device-graphing” information in order to make inferences and connections about our customers and potential customers across various devices – such as mobile phones, tablets, and browsers. (These companies may, for instance, make inferences that devices seen at a common IP address are used by common users.) Companies that we share information with may use the information we provide to them, often in combination with their existing information, to provide you with more relevant advertising. Please see the “Do not Track” section below for more information regarding personalized advertisements and your “Do not Track” options.

Some of the pages on the Site may contain electronic images known as web beacons that allow use to count the number of users who have visited those pages. These collect only limited information such as a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides. These web beacons do not carry any Personal Information and you cannot opt-out or refuse them. However, where they operate with cookies, you can render them ineffective by changing the cookie settings in your browser.

1.4.  Analytics

‍We may use third parties, such as Google Analytics or other analytics providers, to analyze traffic to a Site. Google Analytics does not create individual profiles for visitors and only collects aggregate data.  To disable Google Analytics, please download the browser add-on for the deactivation of Google Analytics provided by Google.  To learn more about privacy and Google Analytics, please consult the Google Analytics overview provided by Google.  You may find additional information about Google Analytics at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You have the option to opt out of Google’s use of cookies by changing your settings through Google Ad Settings via the Google advertising opt-out page at http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
